Data Analytics Engineer: Advanced Statistical Modeling

We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Engineer to join our team at Corning, a world-leading innovator in materials science. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced statistical modeling techniques to drive business growth and improvement.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, machine learning, and statistical algorithms, with experience in manufacturing quality control, process measurement, and lab analysis. They will be well-versed in programming languages such as Python, R, and MATLAB, and have knowledge of software tools like Tableau, Power BI, and JMP.
As a Data Analytics Engineer at Corning, you will be responsible for designing and developing data analytics training curriculums, defining and implementing solutions for exploratory and targeted data analysis, and evaluating the impact of data-driven insights on raw materials, finished products, and manufacturing processes.
You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data analytics solutions, coach junior engineers, and establish external partnerships to stay abreast of emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop data analytics training curriculums to enhance basic data analysis capabilities
- Define, design, and implement solutions for exploratory and targeted data analysis
- Evaluate the impact of data-driven insights on raw materials, finished products, and manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data analytics solutions
- Coach junior engineers in advancing data analytics capabilities
- Masters degree in applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field
- 1-5 years of work experience in similar field, statistical analysis, analytical algorithms development, or modeling experience
- Experience in manufacturing quality control, process measurement, and lab analysis
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, and MATLAB, and knowledge of software tools like Tableau, Power BI, and JMP
