About the Role
We are seeking a talented Applied Researcher to join our team at eBay Engineering & Research. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for developing innovative machine learning algorithms and systems to improve our search experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.
- Develop solutions for large-scale problems in eBay search.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and drive thought leadership in the areas of statistical analysis, machine learning, and business intelligence.
Requirements
- MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent is required.
- 8+ years of industrial experience in data mining or machine learning is preferred.
- Solid experience with two or more of the following: natural language processing, machine learning, speech recognition, large language model application, recommendation systems, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with big data processing, e.g., Hadoop, Spark is necessary.
- Familiar with Java, Python, or other programming languages.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Chinese.
- Attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team to research innovative solutions to challenging business problems.
