Proposal Engineer-Japanese Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Proposal Engineer to join our team in Japan. As a Proposal Engineer, you will work closely with our Customer Care Team to provide proactive support to sales and customers. Your responsibilities will include generating and communicating quotations, coordinating with BU factories, and providing technical support to sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and communicate quotations to customers in Japan.
  • Coordinate with BU factories to ensure proper lead times for quotations.
  • Provide technical support to sales teams, including coordinating with AP Flow Technical Support Team.
  • Review orders for technical conformance and liaise with AP Flow Order Entry Team.
  • Perform other tasks as required and assigned.

Requirements:

  • Review data sheets and prepare sizing, model configuration, and pricing for Flow/Measurement products.
  • Cursory review of Bill of Material information received from Sales/Proposal Engineers/Project Engineers.
  • Convert data into Oracle ERP readable format (RQOM) and upload to Oracle ERP system.
  • Send prices to requestors and ensure timely submission.
  • Meet or exceed KPI goals and develop and monitor processes.
  • Communicate with stakeholders continuously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Years of experience in customer support or sales role.
  • Engineering degree from reputable college institutions, majoring in industry automation and measuring/control instrumentation.
  • Strong written and oral Japanese/English communication skills in a technical environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, solve practical problems, and interpret instructions.

Additional Information:

The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both internal and external customers is essential. The successful candidate will be able to work in a high-stress environment, under minimal supervision, and have proven technical aptitude to learn and explain concepts and terminology associated with flow measurement and applying Micro Motion.
