We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Lam Research. As a key member of our Customer Support Business Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational excellence of our complex semiconductor equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality on-site repair, maintenance, and installation services for Lam's electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues across a broad range of Lam products to minimize downtime and equipment malfunctions.
- Stay up-to-date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through ongoing learning, training, and certification.
- Perform field modifications and updates, maintaining accurate records and reports to coordinate activities between Lam and customers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to valued customers and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Partner directly with customers at management and engineer levels, running meetings, measuring customer trust, and leading improvement programs.
- Discuss opportunities and challenges with customers to increase trust and build strong relationships.
- Provide technical instruction, leadership, and mentoring for junior engineers.
- Coach and delegate to junior employees to ensure project completion on time.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field, and 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years; or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
- Able to work in a clean room environment while wearing personal protective safety equipment.
- Frequently position oneself to perform job tasks for extended periods.
- Able to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, based on customer needs.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with common office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
