Equipment Engineer

Corning is seeking a skilled Equipment Engineer to join our team in Fuzhou, China. As an Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for managing equipment and facility activities, leading equipment and facility teams, and achieving manufacturing excellence.

• Plan and manage capital spending in equipment and facility areas, evaluating and mitigating potential risks for aging equipment.
• Manage spare parts in equipment and facility areas, optimizing spare parts inventory and monthly procurement.
• Review daily purchase requirements in equipment and facility areas, assisting Finance with asset control, including physical counts, transfers, and disposals.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and lead cost reduction projects in equipment and facility areas.
• Troubleshoot unscheduled equipment breakdowns, leading equipment teams with urgency to ensure production resumes in a timely manner.
• Leverage vendors to industrialize, fabricate, install, and replicate prototypes, pilot, or production equipment for new-design equipment needs.
• Lead teams in planning, coordinating, and executing site preparation, equipment move-in, installation, hook-up, power-on, checkout, testing, and start-up for new equipment and facility projects.
• Present ideas, plans, project status, and opinions in writing and orally with visual aids.
• Ensure compliance with EHS rules and regulations.

• BS degree or above in Electric Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Integration, or related Mechanical Engineering.
• 8 years or above experience in equipment and facility management.
• Prefer experience in managing various equipment types and leading teams.

• Project management and equipment vendor management.
• Problem-solving skills based on fundamental understanding of problems.
• Self-motivated, independent, flexible, and quick learner.
• Good communication skills in both Chinese and English.
