About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our team at Amazon Innovation Center (Shenzhen) Company Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and owning major parts of the hardware test infrastructure, including configuration and data management systems, cloud and desktop services, and applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the primary manufacturing support individual answering questions and providing reactive support for Amazon and various contract manufacturing networks.
  • Network support, light cabling, including port configurations supporting engineering.
  • Imaging of stations/laptops to meet Amazon security requirements.
  • Monitoring of contract manufacturing networks, ensuring systems are fully operational.
  • Deliver a great level of service and support to our Amazon Devices customer base.
  • Carry out change management requests (MCMs) as required, which may necessitate out-of-hours work.
  • Liaise with Systems Engineering and external suppliers to assist in the procurement of hardware, clearly communicate technical issues, and uphold Amazon's standards, specifically InfoSec.
  • Provide Systems Engineering support and/or input to site-wide manufacturing team projects and initiatives.
  • Proactive management of assets and inventory: run checks and audits in line with industry standards and processes, including Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
  • Document all manufacturing infrastructure issues and maintain a FAQ Wiki Documentation.
  • Provide manufacturing support to senior engineers as required, including some out-of-hours commitments.
  • Manage and release all test scripts on all Amazon/Devices products. Work with the MFG to debug new test scripts for new products and ensure correct, stable, and reliable operation.
  • Create tickets for problems encountered in product testing and actively promote the solution of closure problems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Linux systems administration.
  • Familiar with Linux commands.
  • Ability to engineer solutions and provide support & solutions in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with physical infrastructure installations, including hardware integration, racking, and cabling.
  • Experience designing, building, and owning major parts of the hardware test infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting or engineering Cisco networks.
  • Ability to write test scripts independently with Python.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule, including occasional off-hours work, to ensure timely project delivery and seamless operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying services to Amazon's Cloud (Amazon Web Services).
  • Flexibility, ability to think on your feet, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, switching, routing, and troubleshooting of enterprise-scale network components.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned tasks and projects.
