Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced English Teacher to join our team at LumosCareer. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to students in a Primary school setting, following the IB PYP curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in alignment with the IB PYP framework.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress using a variety of assessment methods and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary units of inquiry.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and the IB PYP program.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding student progress and school initiatives.
  • Foster a love of learning and curiosity in students, promoting inquiry-based learning and critical thinking skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and other required documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB PYP school.
  • Strong understanding of the IB PYP curriculum and philosophy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and build positive relationships with students and parents.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
