About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated AI Software Engineer to join our Artificial Intelligence team at Zoom. As an AI Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and enhancing our AI software solutions. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to design, implement, and optimize AI algorithms and software applications.

This role offers the opportunity to actively participate in pioneering software development, leveraging your expertise in both AI and software engineering to make a significant impact on the direction of AI development. You will have the chance to directly contribute to the development of internationalized products, collaborate with experienced architects and engineers from abroad, and enhance your sense of accomplishment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize large language models (LLMs) for training and inference, reducing latency and increasing throughput to meet business requirements, and applying them to auto-summarization, information retrieval, intelligent assistants, and other generative AI tasks.
  • Design, develop, and maintain LLM training and inference systems.
  • Optimize AI software systems to improve performance and efficiency, effectively utilizing large-scale computing clusters.
  • Evaluate the performance of product-related algorithms and models, as well as deploy services.
  • Develop AI solutions to address complex real-world problems.
  • Conduct research to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the reliability and quality of software products.
  • Document code, algorithms, and technical processes for internal and external reference.
  • Provide guidance to junior members of the AI and software engineering team.
  • Collaborate with product and business departments to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, AI, or machine learning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • In-depth understanding of AI concepts, algorithms, and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience in large language model training and inference.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Basic English listening and speaking skills, with preference given to those who excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in natural language processing algorithms and techniques, as well as experience with pre-trained models such as GPT and LLaMa.
  • Experience with large-scale GPU clusters, distributed machine learning, model training, and inference optimization.
