About the Role

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is seeking a highly skilled UX/UI Designer to join our team. As a UX/UI Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and user-centered digital experiences that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver end-to-end user experiences across multiple platforms, including websites, apps, and other touchpoints.
  • Lead user research, including contextual interviews, usability testing, and A/B testing, to gain a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.
  • Develop user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, user flow diagrams, wireframes, design prototypes, and design specifications to bring designs to life.
  • Define and deliver interaction design, building on existing UI patterns and visual design language, to create seamless and intuitive user experiences.
  • Take ownership of UX and UI pattern libraries and design guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality across all touchpoints.
  • Drive Cathay Pacific quality standards, process, schedule, and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
  • Facilitate design workshops with stakeholders and business units, ensuring smooth and productive collaboration.
  • Apply a multi-disciplinary perspective to product design, considering business needs, user needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Lead the conversation with development and business teams, pushing best practices in design and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure user needs are at the forefront of design decisions, considering pain points and business needs.
  • Motivate and lead a team of designers, delivering results in a timely fashion and mentoring junior designers to grow within the business.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of work-related experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English, Cantonese, and Chinese a definite plus.
  • Experience conducting/leading user research, including contextual interviews and usability testing.
  • World-class interaction and visual design skills, with the ability to design intuitive interfaces.
  • In-depth knowledge of inclusive design, including accessibility standards.
  • Mastery of design and experience tools, including Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Ability to prototype in HTML/CSS, JavaScript a plus.
  • Firm understanding of the development process and how design decisions impact product development.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and solve problems proactively.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SCRUM within the design discipline.
