The role of Senior Principal Product Application Engineer is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of engineering solutions to encourage customer engagement and improve design-win success for the business. This position involves leading the development of engineering solutions that drive business success and requires a strong technical background in power electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the product application team to define IGBT product and technology platform requirements from a technical perspective.
- Understand market conditions to drive critical business decisions about new products and targeted end applications.
- Provide support to customers in all phases of the design process, including evaluation, design-in, and production, and provide support on the usage of Nexperia reference designs.
- Understand customer requests and participate in the new product enhancement (NPI) process.
- Provide support to Nexperia's market, including help with product development, board bring-up, software development, and system-level debug to ensure successful product design launch.
- Build reference designs in various strategic domains, create application notes and white papers, and perform technical feasibility studies on key functions.
- Develop management processes and policies to support an efficient and safe lab operation.
Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering with over 3 years of experience and a major in power electronics preferred.
- Experience in power electronics applications, test equipment, design, and test program development.
- Technical writing skills for creating application notes, white papers, and user guides/reference manuals.
- Good computer skills, including using Excel, PowerPoint, and Visual Basic to analyze data and prepare reports.
- Good English language abilities.
- Highly self-motivated, creative, and able to accomplish tasks independently.
- Team player with strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with people from different functions and cultures.
Job Specifications
- Initiative, curiosity, willingness to learn, and flexibility in working subjects.
- General engineering experience required, with over 3 years in electronics.
- Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or a similar discipline, Master's preferred.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
