Job Description

Job Title: Production Line Operator

Location: Malu Town, Jiading District, Shanghai

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate complex machinery in the manufacturing and joining of plastic handrails and other parts.
  • Maintain equipment as per the preventive maintenance program.
  • Disassemble and reassemble dies and extruders for style changes.
  • Splice handrails to tolerances using hand tools.
  • Operate moderately complex machinery in the manufacturing of rubber handrails and other parts.
  • Hand assemble handrails and splices.
  • Rework any deficiencies through skilled use of knives and other hand tools.
  • Disassemble and reassemble moulding equipment for style changes.
  • Set up and operate various material preparation machines to slit, cut, extrude, join or pre-assemble rubber or rubberized materials.
  • Disassemble and reassemble dies and other equipment for style and size changes.
  • Set up and operate bending Machine and router to prepare brush holders and other parts.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by labelling and accounting for material discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workplace to ensure processes run efficiently and product is defect free.
  • Work on special projects in the manufacturing areas as required.
  • Packages all finished parts to approved packaging methods and standards.
  • Transfer materials to production lines for assembling to follow approved inventory control method.
  • Maintain boiler operation to approved methods and standards.
  • Maintain a safe & healthy work environment by following organisation standards and legal regulations.
  • Reports any actual or potential unsafe conditions to the Production Supervisor immediately.
  • Promotes safety to other team members.
  • Using analog and digital gauges measures product to determine conformance.
  • Visually inspects products and compares to established standards to determine conformance.
  • Puts products that are suspected of being non-conforming on hold.
  • Maintains SPC graphs and makes process adjustments based on negative trends.
  • Maintains all quality records in order to be in compliance with established standards with the Quality Procedures Manual.
  • Completes final inspection reports, inventory accuracy reports and productivity reports.
  • Prepares Certificate of Quality as required.
  • May be called upon to train other employees when requested by the Production Supervisor.
  • Participates with other team members in supporting team efforts and accomplishing related team results.
  • Works with the team to make ongoing improvements to the process and product.
Requirements:
  • Completion of middle school education.
  • Has 1 year experience in production processes using complicated machinery.
  • A high degree of hand eye coordination is required.
  • Ability to consistently work with in excess of 35 kg and the ability to stand for longer periods of time.
  • Be able to measure correctly and has working knowledge of maths.
  • Good working knowledge of Quality Concepts.
