Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Affairs Specialist – Toxicology Expert to join our team at Unilever. As a key member of our Safety and Environmental Assurance Centre (SEAC), you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful landing of safety assessments for our products in China markets.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with internal colleagues across categories and functional groups, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure the successful landing of safety assessments.

Safety Solutions and Expertise

Provide sound solutions to safety-related inquiries and challenges received during product registration/notification or in post-market surveillance.

Regulatory Partnerships

Support the Safety and Environmental Assurance Centre (SEAC) in collaborating with external academia to develop new safety and environmental science.

Key Opinion Formers and Industry Experts

Engage with Key Opinion Formers (KOFs) in regulatory institutes and introduce modern and innovative next-generation risk assessment approaches without the use of animals.

Industry Representation

Attend industry workshops and seminars to communicate Unilever's differentiating capability in non-animal based next-generation risk assessment.

Key Interfaces
  • Global RA, North Asia RA, Safety & Environmental Assurance Centre (SEAC), Technical Project Leaders (TPL).
  • 3rd-party agencies for safety assessment, KOL, NIFDC experts, Trade Associations, and authorities.
Requirements
  • Education

Master or PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medical Science, Chemistry, or equivalent.

Experience

Fluency in English and Chinese. Excellent oral and written communication skills and dealing with different cultures.

Professional Background

At least 10 years' experience in safety assessment of FMCG products or chemicals, preferably in the cosmetic industry.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to independently carry out safety assessments and review assessment reports done by 3rd-party agencies.

Network and Influence

Excellent network with academic KOL and industry experts. Ability to influence at all levels externally and internally.

Personal Qualities

Pro-active self-direction with a high level of initiative and persistence, and a hands-on approach to results delivery.
