Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager – Toxicologist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful landing of safety assessments for Unilever products in China markets.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Closely collaborate with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure the successful registration and notification of Unilever products in China markets.
  2. Provide sound solutions to safety-related inquiries and challenges received during product registration or post-market surveillance.
  3. Support the Science and Environment Assurance Centre (SEAC) in collaborating with external academia to develop new safety and environmental science.
  4. Engage with Key Opinion Formers (KOFs) to introduce modern and innovative risk assessment approaches without the use of animals, and help build capabilities in non-animal safety assessment.
  5. Attend industry workshops and seminars to communicate Unilever's differentiating capability in non-animal based next generation risk assessment.
Key Interfaces

You will work closely with:

  1. Global Regulatory Affairs, North Asia Regulatory Affairs, Safety & Environmental Assurance Centre (SEAC), and Technical Project Leaders.
  2. Third-party agencies for safety assessment, KOLs, NIFDC experts, Trade Associations, and authorities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Education
  1. A Master's or PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medical Science, Chemistry, or equivalent.
Experience
  1. Fluency in English and Chinese, with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with different cultures.
  2. At least 10 years' experience in safety assessment of FMCG products or chemicals, preferably in the cosmetic industry.
  3. Ability to independently carry out safety assessments and review reports from third-party agencies.
  4. Excellent network with academic KOLs and industry experts, with the ability to influence at all levels externally and internally.
  5. Pro-active self-direction with a high level of initiative and persistence, and a hands-on approach to results delivery.
