Position Overview

The Senior NPI Engineer plays a crucial role in driving innovation and ensuring operational excellence within the organization. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to address immediate process and equipment challenges while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance in troubleshooting and resolving process and equipment issues, ensuring swift and effective solutions.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians, offering support and direction to enhance their professional development.
  • Utilize engineering principles and manufacturing knowledge to identify root causes of issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Oversee project management across various stages of product innovation, focusing on new product introductions, process enhancements, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Propose and execute long-term solutions to performance challenges, while optimizing existing technologies and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of the technical roadmap, safeguarding intellectual property through thorough documentation of materials and processes.
  • Employ statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies to drive process improvements.
  • Identify and implement initiatives aimed at cost reduction and capacity enhancement.
  • Facilitate the introduction of new products and technologies into the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented projects, focusing on metrics such as uptime, cost efficiency, and productivity.
  • Lead projects related to relocations, modifications, and manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to project plans.
  • Establish comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science or equivalent in a technical discipline.

Experience: Over 10 years of relevant experience in optical passive modules, including cassettes and rack mounts. Familiarity with Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), Planar Lightwave Circuits (PLC), and couplers is essential.
