Job Title: Principal Engineer, Data Analytics Engineering(GenAI)

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Data Analytics Engineering team at Western Digital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation and GenAI systems for our quality department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of automation and GenAI systems, including requirements analysis, system architecture design, code writing, testing, deployment, and optimization.
  • Emerging Technologies: Research and evaluate emerging technologies to provide technical support and innovative solutions for system improvement.
  • Business Collaboration: Work closely with business departments to understand business requirements and design automation solutions to meet business needs.
  • Process Improvement: Formulate and optimize the system development process to improve development efficiency and code quality.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and train junior engineers to improve the overall technical level of the team.
  • System Architecture: Participate in system architecture review, code review, and technical decision making to ensure system design and implementation comply with quality standards.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor system operation status and identify and solve system problems in a timely manner.
  • Documentation: Write technical documents, including design documents, development documents, and user manuals, to ensure system documentation is complete and accurate.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above in computer-related majors, with more than 5 years of related working experience.
  • Programming Skills: Proficient in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, etc.) and related frameworks.
  • Software Development: Familiar with software development life cycle and agile development methodology.
  • Database and Middleware: Proficient in database, middleware, distributed systems, and other related technologies.
  • System Design: Good system design and architecture skills, able to design high-performance, scalable system architecture.
  • Communication: Good communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Good problem analysis and solving skills, able to independently analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Learning and Innovation: Have excellent learning ability and innovation consciousness, able to continue to learn new technologies and put forward innovative solutions.
  • Language Skills: Good English reading and writing skills, able to read technical documents.
