About the Team

Zoom's speech team is dedicated to developing innovative speech processing solutions to enhance the conversational AI experience. Our team is responsible for creating cutting-edge technologies, including automatic speech recognition (ASR), text-to-speech (TTS), speaker diarization, language identification, and more.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled machine learning researcher/engineer with a strong background in speech recognition and speech processing. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Developing and deploying state-of-the-art models for speech recognition
  2. Collaborating with cross-functional units to improve production speech recognition models
  3. Exploring novel technologies and publishing research findings in major conferences/journals
Basic Requirements

A PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 3 years of experience in speech recognition, speech processing, and/or natural language processing.

Preferred Requirements

A PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. Specialization in speech recognition, natural language processing, or audio signal processing is highly desirable. Prior experience in developing large-scale speech recognition systems for real-world applications is a plus. Strong programming skills in Python, familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, and experience with speech recognition toolkits and libraries such as Kaldi/k2, ESPnet, or TorchAudio are essential. Strong collaboration and communication skills are also required. A solid understanding and scientific curiosity to learn state-of-the-art speech technologies are necessary.
