We are seeking a skilled Principal Research Scientist to join our Shanghai R&D Center. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of new polymer and sizing products, collaborating closely with global R&D and APAC manufacturing teams to scale up and commercialize these products.

Kemira R&D and Technology plays a critical role in driving our company's growth and innovation. Our team works closely with customers to co-create and innovate, and we are now looking for a talented scientist to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Developing new polymer products or catalysts for organic reactions.
  • Generating new ideas to broaden our product portfolio.
  • Conducting lab experiments independently and efficiently.
  • Collaborating with global R&D teams on new product development.
  • Supporting APAC manufacturing sites with process upgrades.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • PhD/MSc degree in organic chemistry and polymer chemistry from an accredited college/university.
  • Over 5 years of experience in the chemical industry.
  • Rich knowledge of molecular design.
  • Strong hands-on synthesis experimental skills in a laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of wet chemistry analysis or instrument analysis.
  • Able to effectively communicate scientific results both orally and in written reports.
  • Fluent in both oral and written English.
