As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be based in Suzhou to support the Outdoor Wireless Network (OWN) business segment, which plays a crucial role in outdoor cellular and Wi-Fi systems.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate technical requirements of new products and develop specifications from a mechanical perspective, collaborating closely with the production line.
- Conduct feasibility studies and concept development based on product line input.
- Develop detailed designs and models, working with other team members to bring concepts to life.
- Create BOMs, release drawings, and engage in technical discussions with vendors.
- Provide technical support to pilot and operation lines, resolving design-related issues.
- Support root cause analysis for test failures.
- Act as a key contributor within project teams, directing or coordinating the work of drafters, technicians, and other non-exempt personnel, while providing mentoring and suggestions to other engineers.
- Take a lead role in new technology studies and technical problem-solving.
- A completed bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required, with a master's degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in mechanical design, with 5 years of experience in base station antenna design required.
- Experience in sheet metal, plastic injection molding, and die casting.
- Experience in finishing metal parts, such as galvanizing, anodizing, plating, painting, passivation, etc.
- Experience in welding processes and weld part design is a plus.
- Good understanding and practical handling of tolerance analysis and GD&T.
- Design experience in cavity PSA in base station antennas will be a plus.
- Experience in fastener and torque analysis will be a plus.
- Good command of written and spoken English, with written being a must and spoken being a plus.
- Proven experience in analysis and design of structural design.
- Experience in developing whole products from concept to sold product.
- Familiarity with structure simulation software, such as ANSYS Workbench or SolidWorks Simulation.
- Excellent problem-solving, fast learning, team play, and interpersonal communication abilities are essential.
