Life Insurance Consumer Protection Strategy Manager

The Manager of Consumer Rights Protection plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in developing and sustaining a robust governance framework for consumer rights protection at HSBC Life Insurance Company Limited.

We are looking for a seasoned professional to enhance our team.

Key Responsibilities:


• Establish and uphold a comprehensive Consumer Rights Protection (CRP) framework and policies across the organization;


• Collaborate with various teams, branches, and supporting resources to ensure the effective implementation of CRP regulatory mandates and initiatives.


• Create and maintain a governance platform to consistently oversee the execution of the annual CRP strategy and monitor the progress of specific projects.


• Ensure compliance with all CRP regulations and policies by identifying responsible parties for specific tasks, including product and service evaluations, annual CRP report preparation, information disclosure, and KPI setting and assessment.


• Quickly assimilate and understand CRP regulatory requirements, leading the organization in establishing an effective CRP framework and operational management promptly;


• Drive the implementation of a consistent and effective CRP control system, ensuring appropriate governance and methods for both internal and outsourced controls;


• Develop and integrate CRP governance and reporting standards, including support and coordination for forums and committees, ensuring high-quality governance inputs;


• Define, communicate, and monitor risk appetite in accordance with regulatory standards, preparing and delivering CRP reports to relevant stakeholders as necessary;


• Foster a strong CRP environment, collaborating with both internal and external parties to lead promotional activities and share best practices with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:


• Demonstrated experience and understanding of the regulatory landscape and CRP issues within the Chinese context;


• Proven ability to build relationships through effective communication, influence, and negotiation with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders;


• Skilled in synthesizing complex information into clear, actionable insights and recommendations;


• Proficient in both spoken and written Chinese, with fluency in English being essential;


• Capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders and managing multiple parties to achieve common goals under tight deadlines.
