We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in this critical role. This position plays a key part in ensuring that all health and safety management systems are implemented and continuously improved at local sites.



About the Role:

This role requires strong knowledge of HSE legislation and compliance procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with Corporate/Regional HS&E teams to build a strong culture of health, safety, and environment within CSA Group.



  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation under the guidance of Corporate/Regional HSE.
  • S support the implementation and continuous improvement of all HSE Management System requirements at local sites.
  • Collaborate with relevant parties to help implement HS&E activities and ensure continuous compliance with established internal procedures.
  • Take actions to achieve HSE objectives and KPIs.
  • Work with managers and staff to identify hazards/environmental aspects, assist with assessing risk and establishing controls as required.
  • Report Hazards/Near Miss/Incidents and perform incident investigation on a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and assist with external and internal auditor activities as applicable.
  • Analyze root cause for all non-conformances and incidents and provide recommendations for necessary corrective actions to the manager and/or Regional HSE Manager.
  • Coordinate and deliver HSE trainings/meetings to site employees and other necessary communications as required.
  • Report progress toward achieving objectives and addressing non-conformances as required.
  • Will coordinate and work with all contractors as needed.
  • Ensure ERP is up to date and organize drills accordingly.
  • Coordinate all HSE inspections including workplace inspection, fire extinguisher/suppression system/first aid kit/AED/ladder/chemical storage/compressed gas cylinders etc.
  • Assist with site PPE requirements.
  • Will monitor correct use of V-EHS by all other employees.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree preferably with Electric/Mechanic/Engineering or other related majors. You should also have 3-5 years' experience in HSE-related roles, familiarity with HSE regulatory requirements, and experience working with ISO14001, ISO45001, or OHSAS 18001 Standards.



  • Bachelor's Degree; preferable with Electric/Mechanic/Engineering or other related majors.
  • 3-5 years HSE related experience.
  • Familiar with HSE regulatory requirements.
  • Familiar with ISO14001, ISO45001 or OHSAS 18001 Standard;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with operational management of occupational health, safety and environment needs.
  • Hands-on experience implementing health, safety and environment policies, procedures and practices in various work environments (Office, Lab etc.).
  • Experience with chemicals is valued.
  • Good interpersonal skills, problem-solving/analysis.
  • Good English and computer skills.

Compensation Package:

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $80,000-$120,000 based on your qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, opportunities for career growth, and a dynamic work environment.
