Job Description

Avery Dennison Smartrac is a leading provider of innovative materials and digital identification solutions.

We are currently seeking a Senior Hardware Product Development Lead to join our team in Shanghai, China or Suzhou, China. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of complex hardware systems and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product line managers, and suppliers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for hardware solutions
  • Design and develop complex hardware systems, including embedded systems, industrial automation equipment, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices
  • Integrate hardware components with software systems to create end-to-end solutions
  • Perform hardware testing, validation, and debugging to ensure product quality and reliability
  • Architect and develop new hardware products
  • Develop and maintain hardware documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, and test plans
  • Develop ecosystem partners and strategic partnerships with hardware solution providers and system integrators
  • Vendor management and be the main point of contact from Avery Dennison Smartrac
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure smooth production processes, quality control, and timely delivery of hardware products
Requirements
  • University degree in engineering or a related field with 5 years of solid experience in solution development, preferably in the garment manufacturing industry
  • Experience in developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps; proven track record in defining, launching, evolving, and sustaining products preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Solid experience in driving critical development projects from concepts to launch
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decision-making
  • Have an eye for detail and working in an organized fashion, maintaining product and project progress records
  • Self-discipline and urgency (sense of time pressure and motivation to complete activities)
  • Assertive, persistent, and flexible to work in a matrixed, fast-paced organization
  • Team building and management skills will be preferred
  • Willing to travel around 10% of the time
  • Excellent written and spoken English
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is ¥250,000 - ¥350,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
