About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Siemens Energy as a Proposal Engineer - Mechanical Systems, where you will play a key role in administrating, consulting, and negotiating proposals with external customers for Gas Turbine or Steam Turbine auxiliary systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate contracts that align with business objectives and engage in contract amendments and renegotiation to accommodate scope changes.
  • Provide sales support for customer meetings and workshops with design institutes during the pre-acquisition phase.
  • Prepare proposals for auxiliary systems, including cost calculation and risk assessment.
  • Provide technical clarification and negotiation during the bid submission and contract negotiation phase.
  • Present results of proposal preparation to management, sales, and customers.
  • Avoid Non-Conformance Costs (NCC) and hand over successful offers to project implementation teams.
  • Provide technical support on local sub-supplier qualification and clarification, conduct necessary design changes to meet cost reduction targets and local codes and regulations requirements.
  • Support project execution, including participating in inspection and factory acceptance tests as a supplier site and providing erection and commissioning instructions at the project site, if required.
  • Coordinate gas turbine auxiliary system design activities and interfaces with internal and external engineering disciplines and the procurement department.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage all project risks.
  • Manage compliance to standards, rules, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or Thermal Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering discipline for GT/ST power plant systems (engineering, project management).
  • Good knowledge of domestic Codes and Regulations on power generation.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the design of gas turbine or steam turbine auxiliary systems, lube oil systems, air intake systems, etc.
  • Rich experience in power plant auxiliary system development and supplier qualification.
  • Project site experience in installation and commissioning would be a plus.
  • Fluent English and Chinese skills in a business environment.
  • Proven intercultural experience, with working experience in a European company being a plus.
