About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Sustainability Expert to join our team as an Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting environmental risk assessments, evaluating the potential impacts of our investments, and developing strategies to mitigate any adverse effects.
Your expertise will help us make informed decisions about project feasibility, ensuring that our investments align with our environmental and social framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct desk studies to assess the environmental and social feasibility of AIIB's projects
- Participate in the screening of projects for potential environmental and climate-related risks and impacts
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate adverse environmental impacts
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure compliance with our environmental and social requirements
- Monitor implementation of ES aspects of projects and address any issues that may arise during project implementation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in environmental science, environmental planning, engineering, policy, or management
- 2-3 years (if with Bachelor's degree) or 1-2 years (if with Master's degree) of relevant experience doing research or working in environmental-related research institutes/universities, NGOs, or consulting firms preferred
- High levels of competency in quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Knowledge of one or more areas of environmental modeling, e.g., models for air dispersion and noise
- Experience working in developing countries a plus
- Good team player with strong initiative
- Proficient in oral and written communication skills in English
