Our Public Sector Clients Department, Region 1 (PSC1), focuses on identifying, originating, preparing, executing, and investing in projects with public sector clients across various sectors in South Asia, South East Asia, the Pacific Islands, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Investment Officer – Urban to lead multidisciplinary teams working closely with clients and development partners on urban projects/programs. This role involves supporting planning, design, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of projects/programs aligned with AIIB's mission, strategies, and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams consisting of specialists to prepare and deliver high-quality lending projects/programs in the urban sector, including waste management, drainage, urban mobility, slum upgrading, affordable housing, tourism, land remediation, and regeneration.
- Ensure all project aspects, including technical, economic, financial, fiduciary, social, and environmental issues, are properly addressed and AIIB policy requirements are followed.
- Manage project teams providing efficient supervision, monitoring, and evaluation of projects/programs.
- Support the implementation of investment projects/programs to ensure they generate expected outcomes and comply with AIIB's relevant policy requirements.
- Contribute to team member development by sharing expert knowledge and experience.
- Work as a technical expert or team member to provide quality technical contributions for urban planning and other urban development-related areas.
- Identify and propose innovative solutions for designing and preparing new lending projects/programs.
- Carry out dialogue and collaboration with clients and development partners on strategic topics, such as sustainable cities or regional economic integration.
- Advocate and promote AIIB's mission and operational priorities, helping clients identify, evaluate, and develop infrastructure investment opportunities aligned with their policies and AIIB's strategies.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in the urban sector, including identification, preparation, implementation, and supervision of urban projects and/or programs.
- A proven track record of successful business operations in developing countries, introducing state-of-the-art technology and expertise to countries in Asia.
- Operational experience with multilateral development banks, solid understanding of operational policies, and the project cycle is desirable.
- Strong organizational and project management skills for managing large and complex project portfolios.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- A Master's degree or equivalent from a reputable university in a relevant field, such as economics, urban planning, development, engineering, urban resilience, or related fields.

Salary:
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
