Social Development Specialist

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank that plays a crucial role in financing infrastructure for sustainable development in Asia and beyond. With a mission to Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow, AIIB aims to promote regional connectivity, green technology, and social responsibility in its investment operations.
As a Principal Social Development Specialist at AIIB, you will lead the social development team within the Sustainability and Fiduciary Solutions Department (SFD) to support the realization of AIIB's commitment to sustainable development consistent with its Environmental and Social Framework (ESF). Your key responsibilities will include:
- Oversight of effective implementation of AIIB's environmental and social responsibilities during project preparation and implementation;
- Leading coordination between SFD and relevant departments on projects;
- Institutional reporting to Bank management on projects and portfolio performance in ESF implementation;
With a strong leadership background and expertise in social planning and risk management, you will provide strategic guidance to the social development team and advise on the application of the ESP in AIIB investment operations. Your experience in working with public and private sector clients, development partners, and external stakeholders will be essential in managing relationships on environmental and social development thematic topics.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional who can bring their expertise in social development, risk management, and team leadership to our organization. If you have a minimum of 15 years of relevant international experience in social planning and risk management, a successful track record in planning and managing social aspects of infrastructure programs and projects, and strong leadership and interpersonal skills, we encourage you to apply.
**Estimated Salary:** $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
**Requirements:*
- Advanced degree in a relevant field of social sciences;
- Minimum 15 years of relevant international experience in social planning and risk management;
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven track record as a manager and/or leader of interdisciplinary teams;
- Familiarity with business processes and international good practice in infrastructure investment operations;
- Ability to travel frequently and extensively;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
