Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Motor Systems Purchasing Strategist to join our international purchasing team within the Automotive Group of Continental. As a key member of our global team, you will play a vital role in developing and executing a worldwide material and supplier strategy for the area of Motor Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive sourcing strategy for Motor Systems, aligning with Continental's and Category requirements and Strategy.
  • Actively influence the sourcing process through supplier selection, price negotiations, contract closure, and sourcing decisions.
  • Conduct annual price negotiations, support improvement programs with suppliers, and drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support the development of a worldwide material and supplier strategy, incorporating Continental's and Category requirements and Strategy.
  • Investigate, implement, and execute market analyses to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define and implement strategic plans globally.
  • Drive pooling activities with external cooperation partners to enhance competitiveness.

Requirements:

  • Academic degree in economics, business administration, engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Several years of professional experience in Purchasing or customer/supplier-oriented functions.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is highly desirable.
  • Creativity to think beyond borders and develop innovative sourcing models, supply chain models, and supplier concepts.
  • Ability to work independently, self-responsibly, and with high self-motivation.
  • Deep knowledge of MS Office software and SAP R/3.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
  • Stress resistance, conflict resolution skills, assertiveness, and intercultural sensitivity.
