About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Algorithm Engineer to join our AI Search (RAG) team at Zoom. As a Search Algorithm Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge search algorithms. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of AI and search technologies, working closely with cross-functional teams. You will be directly involved in developing impactful products, collaborating with experienced architects and engineers from around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize user experience and business metrics through iterative improvements
  • Develop a deep understanding of search full-stack (query understanding, recall, relevance, ranking, etc.) and design effective technical solutions and algorithm strategies to address business needs
  • Engineer successful algorithms and apply them to real-world business scenarios to enhance user search experience
  • Delve into products and business, identify mechanisms and algorithmic shortcomings, propose improvements, and drive implementation
  • Collaborate closely with the big data team to design and maintain robust data models and processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficiency in search algorithms and data structures, with solid programming skills in Python, Java, or C++
  • Deep understanding of AI concepts, algorithms, and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Familiarity with information retrieval/natural language processing/machine learning/deep learning technologies, with experience in search recall/ranking/relevance/query understanding/big-scale log mining a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) a plus
  • Familiarity with large language models a plus
