Responsibilities

  • Manage and support processes contributing to innovation and development in the China growth region for the Catalysts business line.
  • Strategically plan, coordinate, and scientifically manage chemical, technical, and applied technology-related projects in the Greater China Region.
  • Lead important, complex, and company-wide R&D projects with a project team consisting of corporate employees, internal, and external cooperation partners.
  • Exercise functional and disciplinary responsibility for laboratories in Shanghai based on recognized expertise in the field.
  • Establish and maintain contact with internal and external customers for the representation of the field, products, and coordination of customer cooperations.
  • Take on project responsibility for strategic projects and set up strategic alliances.
  • Negotiate and sign cooperation contracts with internal and external partners within the approved budget.
  • Ensure ESHQ responsibility for laboratories and pilot plants and implement a suitable subordinate organization.
  • Plan personnel increase, including selection and cost responsibility.
  • Exercise disciplinary and functional responsibility for a group of exempt and non-exempt employees.

Requirements

  • Master or PhD in chemistry, process engineering, or chemical reaction engineering with a focus on catalysis.
  • 5-10 years of working experience in catalyst development or applied technology.
  • Strong knowledge in general catalysis.
  • Background in the catalysis industry, particularly precious catalysts, is a plus.
  • Solid ability in team management and lab management.
  • Fluent oral and written English.
