Patent Translator Job Description

Welocalize is seeking a skilled Patent Translator to join our team. As a trusted global transformation partner, we accelerate the global business journey by enabling brands and companies to reach, engage, and grow international audiences.

Main Duties:
  • Perform copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts
  • Perform on-demand translation tasks
  • Manage and maintain language materials, including glossaries and style guides
  • Manage project-related queries and ensure good interaction among team members
  • Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors
  • Develop and train internal linguists and freelancers
  • Interact with clients on linguistic matters
  • Participate in the development of new and improved working processes
Requirements:
  • University degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Patent translation/review
  • Patent Agent Qualification is preferred
  • Native fluency in designated TARGET language (English to Chinese)
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process
  • Good user experience of standard software and CAT tools
  • Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of terminology used in two or more subject matters
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and give clear, concise, and constructive feedback
