Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Perception Research Scientist for Autonomous Driving Innovation to contribute to our cutting-edge team in autonomous driving technology. In this role, you will design, implement, and improve perception algorithms and models for real-world autonomous systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Development: Work on software features that meet customers' performance targets and build unique values.
  • Algorithm Optimization: Implement and optimize perception algorithms for high accuracy, real-time performance, and robustness under various environmental conditions.
  • Sensor Integration: Work with data from multiple sensor modalities, including LiDAR, radar, camera, and GPS, to create reliable perception models.
  • Data Collection & Annotation: Collaborate with data engineering teams to establish data requirements and ensure efficient collection, annotation, and curation of datasets.
  • Simulation & Testing: Design and run simulations and tests to evaluate and benchmark perception algorithms in real-world and simulated environments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other business units to ensure smooth integration of perception solutions into real products.
  • Publication & Intellectual Property: Contribute to academic publications and patents, staying up-to-date on the latest research in autonomous driving and related fields.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in research and development in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or autonomous systems, particularly in perception for autonomous vehicles.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Highly self-motivated with the ability to tackle complex challenges and manage multiple projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in deep learning frameworks, experience with perception algorithms and tools, and knowledge of sensor techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Publications in top-tier conferences/journals in machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or autonomous driving.
  • Experience with real-world perception systems for autonomous driving and understanding of robotics software stack and safety-critical systems.
