Main Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Investment Projects Specialist to join our team. As a PCT System Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for developing PCT parts in capital investment projects as a PCT system engineer in time schedule, budget, and quality according to relevant standards and procedures in all project phases for all PCT tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops the design basis for capital investment projects, including but not limited to the definition of design basis, PCT system description, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and process discipline specifications.
  • Evaluates technical needs of clients, converts those needs into functional and technical requirements, and finally into engineering design input.
  • Reviews feedback on potential for improvement and assesses an optimal solution while considering technical, economic, and ecological constraints.
  • Establishes a team of PCT engineers as part of the project PCT organization and proposes multi-discipline workflow to ensure cross-communication within the PCT team and within project sub-teams.
  • Implements PCT-related workflows and standards, guidelines, and instructs technical personnel in view of legal obligation and company policy to ensure complete and consistent PCT design packages.
  • Designs the work plan and schedule for PCT design services in projects, collates cost estimation data for his/her discipline.
  • Prepares documentation for PCT (basic, detail, interface, final) in EPDS 1-99 Project File Structure to ensure the delivery package fully complies, collates and reviews engineering documents created by process engineers assigned to the same project.

Qualification Requirements (Education & Work Experience):

  • Master or Bachelor degree in instrumentation, automation, electrical, or IT engineering from a renowned university.
  • Work experience in the relevant field in PCT design of at least 8 years.
  • Has gained significant know-how in the areas of basic and detail design, including interface management with contractors, field engineering support, commissioning, and start-up of chemical, petrochemical, or related plants.
  • Knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, electrical, and associated auxiliaries, digital plant automation structures, and CAE tools is required.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, including technical English.
  • Knowledge of all relevant GB and IEC codes with regard to design and maintenance of PCT systems in chemical and petrochemical plants.
  • Able to establish priorities, organize, work independently, and proceed according to agreed objectives without continuous supervision.
  • Exhibits considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Project experience: Lead Engineer role or PCT Engineer role in €5 million+ projects.
