About the Role
The School of Science at Xi an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the fields of chemistry and materials science. We are seeking an exceptional candidate who can lead research in one of the following areas: dual carbon strategic materials, information materials, and frontier new materials. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing highly productive teams of scientists, staff, and students, as well as engaging with industries and external institutions for applied materials research and innovation and knowledge transfer.

The Chemistry Department at XJTLU was established in 2010 and offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in chemistry and materials science. About the AMRC
The Advanced Materials Research Center (AMRC) is a university-level research center that was established to advance materials development and innovation. The AMRC is strategically positioned to address intricate challenges in materials research and development, and we are seeking a candidate who can contribute to our mission. The successful applicant will have a strong track record of research and teaching experience and be able to provide administrative service to the department, school, and university committees.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for leading one of the research themes within the AMRC and managing a team of scientists, staff, and students. They will also be responsible for engaging with industries and external institutions for applied materials research and innovation and knowledge transfer, as well as conducting high-quality and productive research and securing internal and external research funding. Additionally, they will supervise PhD, Masters, and undergraduate students and teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules/classes.
Qualifications/Experiences
We are seeking a candidate who has a PhD degree in chemistry and/or materials science and engineering and has at least two years of postdoctoral experience. The successful applicant will have a strong track record of research and teaching experience and be able to provide administrative service to the department, school, and university committees. They will also have experience in leading research teams to productive outcomes and securing external funding, as well as ability to teach in an area in line with the academic programmes.
