About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our team at Eraneos Germany. As a key member of our Data Science team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable cloud architectures, developing data preparation and aggregation pipelines, and working with event and streaming technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable cloud architectures in production environments
  • Develop data preparation and aggregation pipelines using ETL tools
  • Work with event and streaming technologies such as SQS, PubSub, EventHub, and Kafka
  • Develop RESTful API services using established frameworks and standards
  • Write automated tests and documentation, and implement CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
  • At least 8 years' experience in software development in an industrial environment
  • Sound knowledge of Python, including libraries relevant to data science
  • Knowledge of Java, Scala, or Kotlin, as well as Machine Learning is desirable
  • Proven experience with SQL (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle) and No-SQL (Mongo DB) databases
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies, especially in the Hadoop ecosystem
  • Experience with container technologies and micro-services, as well as cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of professional success
  • Excellent communication skills in German (at least B2) and English
