Research Scientist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our Powder Business Technology team at Axalta. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cost-effective, high-quality products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new products according to customer requirements and obtain customer approval through efficient communication.
• Manage and monitor project progress as a project leader, following internal processes and reporting project status to local and global organizations in a timely manner.
• Qualify second sources of raw materials and support product localization.
• Maintain recipes in the TIPS database and have knowledge to develop products that match customer specifications with good workability and efficiency.
• Understand major customer concerns regarding Axalta products/technology in focused industries and find suitable rework routes for distressed inventory or other non-productive inventory.
• Support line trials of new product launches at customer sites as required and lead or take an active role in problem-solving customer issues using appropriate methodology.
• Provide training to lab technicians on new chemistry, application, and test methods.

Requirements:

• Major in polymer chemistry, chemical engineering, or material science.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the powder industry.
• Good communication skills and a desire to seek inputs across organizations.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Words.
• Strong verbal and written command of the English language.
