Product Design Technician

At Cummins Inc., we are seeking a skilled Product Design Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical systems and be able to create innovative design concepts that meet Cummins and customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

• Creates and maintains specifications (drawings and models) of Cummins products per company, industry, national, and international standards.

• Ensures model and drawing quality, and utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control and to maintain security.

• Participates in the maintenance of standards and practices which ensure quality, and engages with required functional areas as needed.

Key Competencies:

• Mechanical Design Modeling and Analysis - Creates Computer Aided Design models in accordance with Cummins' standards to represent architectural or product level system design concepts.

• Mechanical Design of Mechanical Systems - Acquires and applies an in-depth understanding of mechanical systems through working knowledge that guides a designer's ability to create innovative and sound design concepts.

• Mechanical Design Specification - Creates complete specifications in the form of solid models, configured engineering bill of materials and detailed drawings that cross-functionally communicate the information required to manufacture and inspect a product per its design intent.

Education and Experience:

• Requires a High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field.

• Preferably, a Bachelors degree or above, majoring in engine, automobile, mechanical design or other related disciplines.

Requirements:

• Good at Creo operation, be familiar with GD&T, Good command of listening, reading, writing and oral English.

• Be capable with good communication, coordination, and cooperation.
