Position Overview

The Roche PD China Oncology/Hematology MD Fellowship is tailored for specialist trainees.

This program aims to enhance and diversify clinical training by providing exposure to clinical research methodologies from the perspective of pharmaceutical medicine. The fellowship is structured to last for one year, primarily based in Shanghai, within the Clinical Development Group, which is responsible for the strategy, design, and execution of late-phase clinical trials.

Participants will have opportunities for travel and direct engagement across Roche/Genentech. An experienced member of the Clinical Development Group will supervise the fellow, and a mentor will also be assigned to support their development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of data from clinical studies for both developing and marketed compounds.
  • Collaborate with globally recognized academic experts and clinical investigators.
  • Participate in essential clinical strategy, implementation, and molecule management meetings to gain insights into the complexities and challenges of drug development.
  • Provide clinical expertise in the relevant disease area for cross-functional pharmaceutical development teams.
  • Contribute to discussions and initiatives surrounding Personalized Health Care (PHC) and patient selection for various therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with other clinical science team members, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to complete and submit regulatory filings and documentation.
  • Work closely with global early and late-stage development teams and experts.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The Roche PD China MD Fellowship is suitable for individuals with a background in clinical science, certified clinicians with formal training, or those with at least five years of clinical practice experience in the oncology/hematology field.

  • Experience in clinical trials within oncology/hematology.
  • A trainee keen on understanding and influencing the development and approval of medications for patients in the oncology and hematology domains. Note: This fellowship is not designed as a basic science fellowship leading to a postgraduate degree, although clinical research may complement existing basic research if applicable.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication in both Chinese Mandarin and English.
