About the School of Advanced Technology

The School of Advanced Technology at Xi an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is a research and practice-led institution that offers a challenging and stimulating environment for students. Areas of Expertise

The Department of Intelligent Science at the School of Advanced Technology has a strong focus on areas such as natural language processing, machine translation, information extraction, machine learning, computer vision, and pattern recognition. Our faculty members are experienced in these areas and are committed to advancing the field through research and innovation.

Responsibilities

We are seeking applicants who have extensive teaching experience, a strong publication record, and success in obtaining research grants. The successful candidate will provide leadership in curriculum development and enhancing our research profile at the international level. They will also assume administrative responsibilities based on their experience.

Essential Qualifications/Experiences
  • PhD in computer science or a closely aligned area and PG Cert HE or equivalent
  • Ideal few years of teaching/research experience at a university or equivalent after completion of PhD degree
  • PhD supervision capacity
  • Strong publications record in an area of expertise
  • Evidence of success in obtaining research grants
  • Fluency in English

  • Experience in PhD supervision
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
  • Professional memberships such as BCS, IET, ACM, IEE, and HEA

Research Funding Support

The university provides every new faculty member with Research Development Fund to encourage them to initiate research projects, and Research Engagement Fund provided to support their continuous research activities. The university will also support all faculty members to apply for national, province, and city level programs.
