Job Description

Operation Digitalization & Smart Factory

We are seeking a highly skilled Digitalization Project Engineer to join our team at Continental. As a key member of our digitalization team, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing digitalization applications and use cases in our smart factory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with plant teams to identify and follow-up on digitalization applications and use cases
  • Define and harmonize smart factory requirements with stakeholders
  • Develop digital use case goals and benefits related to plant requirements
  • Implement digital use cases related to defined requirements
  • Document digital use cases and their specific results

Project Management

You will be responsible for planning, executing, and participating in agile project management projects. This includes participating in BCZ projects and contributing to strategic OT targets, preparing budget and forecast for smart factory and analytics projects, and reporting project status, goals, and execution to stakeholders.

ME Process and Machine Standardization

You will enrich existing process and machine standards with inputs from analytics, IT results, and potentials. You will also provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding manufacturing engineering.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

You should have a university degree, preferably in industrial engineering, IT, or a related discipline. You should also have knowledge in Low Code Application Development Platform (CLAP), RPA, or other Java programming languages. Knowledge in Microsoft 365 tools, such as PowerBI, Lists, PowerApps, is preferable. PMP certificates are preferred.

Professional Experience

You should have 5 or more years of experience working in a plant environment and 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in more than one functional area, such as quality, operations, etc.

Project and/or Process Experience

You should have practical experience in project management as a team member or PM and experience in continuous improvement projects/IT projects/software development projects. Preferable experience with agile project management is required.

Intercultural/International Experience

You should have experience working with international teams on digital topics and understanding of foreign cultures. You should be proficient in minimum 2 languages, with English being mandatory.

  • Tool knowledge with Continental standard BI, Analytics tools (such as KNIME, PowerBI), Microsoft 365 (Lists, PowerApp, etc)
  • Knowledge with Low Code Application Development Platform (CLAP), RPA, or other low-code tools or Java or.net programming languages
  • Fluent English and intercultural sensitivity
  • Communication techniques (incl. presentation, change management)
  • Project management skills, tools especially agile approaches
  • CBS principles, methods, and tools (production management system)
  • Future technologies, Industry applications, smart factory-related technologies, and system understanding persuasion/ability to empathy
  • Problem-solving and decision-making tools and techniques
