Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
*   Develop and execute the company's annual benchmarking strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals.
*   Manage the benchmarking budget, including procurement of competitor components and teardown services.
*   Establish and maintain standardized benchmarking methodologies, processes, and reporting templates.

Technical Analysis & Teardown Execution:
*   Plan, coordinate, and lead physical and virtual teardowns of competitor automotive components and systems.
*   Perform detailed analysis of product design, functionality, materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
*   Oversee the reverse engineering of manufacturing processes
 

Cost Analysis & Should-Cost Modeling:
*   Develop detailed "should-cost" models for competitor products based on material, manufacturing, labor, and overhead analysis.
*   Compare competitor costs against our internal designs to identify cost gaps and opportunities for improvement.
*   Collaborate with the Purchasing and Cost Engineering teams to validate assumptions and refine cost targets.

Insight Generation & Reporting:
*   Synthesize complex teardown and analysis data into clear, concise, and actionable reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior leadership and cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product Management, Sales).
*   Translate benchmarking findings into specific recommendations for design improvements, cost reduction, technology adoption, and patentable ideas.
*   Maintain a centralized digital library of benchmarking data, reports, and physical samples for company-wide access.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
*   Work closely with Product Engineering and BU Mt Application Team to set target specifications for new products based on benchmark data.
*   Support the Sales and Marketing teams by providing competitive intelligence to strengthen customer value propositions.
*   Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to benchmark world-class quality and production processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering or other technical subject

2. Analytical thinking

3. Strong communication and presentation skills across cultures

4. AVS/NVH product know-how is an advantage
