Performance/Systems Engineer to SHA

We are looking for a candidate who will become a member of Sumitomo's  SHI FW  Global Services', Engineering Team acting in a function of PERFORMANCE ENGINEER or SYSTEMS depending on your seniority and experience.

You will contribute into both proposal and execution stage of the projects aiming among others for: upgrading systems of existing industrial and CHP plants, developing customized technology concepts, performing process and sizing calculations.

The function you will be acting thus scope of duties depends on the your professional experience and seniority.

As a Performance engineer you are responsible for calculating predicted performance, dimensioning of main and auxiliary parts of the systems and defining the design criteria for the equipment. For calculations you will use SFW inhouse developed software as well as commercially available software. You will cooperate with worldwide located team and contribute to developing international projects. You will get a chance to become a technology subject matter expert. 

As a Systems you are responsible for creating optimal and doable technology concepts, defining it's functionality and specifications, performing performance calculations. You will be developing project engineering documentation, participating at commissioning activities, acting as subject matter expert. You may possibly leading engineering team works, cooperating with other engineering and commercial experts.

Our Asian offices are located in Shanghai (China), Bangkok (Thailand), Chennai and Noida (India). In principle we are working at the office or site however part time remote work is possible.

Responsibilities

  • Technology concepts development and evaluation;
  • Performance calculations for large scale steam and hot water boiler technology and equipment dimensioning; 
  • Preparing technical documentation needed in a proposal preparation and project phase;
  • Providing support or participation in site commissioning works and troubleshooting;
  • Analyzing the contracts or requests for quotations or business partner's documentation; 
  • Depending on your experience and seniority possibly perhaps leading/coordinating the engineering works;  

Requirements

  • Professional experience in boiler technology or power industry is considered as an advantage, especially in the field of performance engineering or systems engineering or technologist or commissioning engineer or/and engineering manager for large scale power plants or CHP;
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree of energy/power generation or process technology or similar engineering field;
  • General knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer and boiler technology fundamentals;
  • Good written and spoken skills in English. Thai, Chinese and other languages are considered as an advantage;
  • Willingness to take responsibility and become an expert/leader, effective communication skills.
