We're looking for someone who can:

  • Deliver insights: support the Execution Services business in Global Markets by analyzing complex datasets and uncovering actionable insights
  • Solve problems: tackle a wide variety of revenue-generating and productivity challenges using data
  • Model and interpret: apply statistical techniques to understand market trends and performance metrics
  • Code and automate: use your hands-on coding experience to build scalable data pipelines and dashboards
  • Understand the business: work closely with stakeholders to identify key questions and translate data into meaningful global business outcomes

Your team
You will be based in Shanghai, working in the Global Markets Quantitative Analytics and Development team, focusing on deliveries for Execution Services.

Our mission is to provide high-quality data and the insights that drive decisions for sales, trading, management, and clients.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a role in UBS's data transformation journey, combining classical analytical techniques with modern tools to improve service provision, drive revenues, and reduce costs.

Your expertise

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly and justify analytical approaches to stakeholders
  • A practical mindset: focused on delivering value, not just theory
  • At least one degree in a technical or quantitative field
  • Hands-on coding experience, ideally in Python
  • Experience with visualization technologies, e.g. Power BI
  • Well versed in Computer Science fundamentals, modern software development practices, Unix utilities, and shell scripting
  • Ideally, familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure
  • Good understanding of data science, market dynamics and an ability to explain, visualize, and work with large volumes of data
  • Ideally, experience working in a markets environment, e.g. global Equities, Futures, Options, and/or FX
