The Opportunity:

• Role: Freelance Translator (English to Chinese Simplified - ZHCN)

• Specialization: Transcreation, Marketing, and UI/UX Content.

• Content Focus: High-impact Marketing content, along with Help articles, requiring marketing/transcreation levels of quality.

Key Requirements & Experience:

We are looking for linguists who meet the following strict criteria:

• Native Linguists: Must be a Native Chinese Simplified (ZHCN) linguist.

• Specialized Expertise (MUST HAVE): Proven experience in Transcreation, Marketing, and UI/UX translation.

• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with Tag Placement and UI string management.

• Professional Background:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional translation experience, OR

  • A degree in Linguistics or Translation.

• Quality Commitment: The ability to follow client terminology, style guides, and reference materials precisely.

Our founders, Spence and John met at Google working on Google Translate. As researchers at Stanford and Berkeley, they both worked on language technology to make information accessible to everyone. While together at Google, they were amazed to learn that Google Translate wasn't used for enterprise products and services inside the company.The quality just wasn't there. So they set out to build something better. LILT was born.

LILT has been a machine learning company since its founding in 2015. At the time, machine translation didn't meet the quality standard for enterprise translations, so LILT assembled a cutting-edge research team tasked with closing that gap.
