Segment Marketing Manager – Gaming and Mobile

strategic vertical segments.
With 5G as a driving force, mobile applications such as gaming drastically change some requirements at SoC
and system level. Operators push for 5G enabled XR applications that disrupt previously established paradigms
in terms for device requirements. Same time the gaming market sees substantial changes in terms of
performance needs by applying techniques like Ray Tracing, changes in terms of where rendering of content
takes place and changes of business models both for transactions as well as for subscriptions.
This is why we are expanding our Segment Marketing team by recruiting a Segment Marketing Manager –
Gaming and Mobile who will create and drive a vision that will help deliver our mission to sharpen the
competitive edge of our customers.
Working in a close collaborative relationship with stakeholders including Imagination's business units, sales,
marcom, business development and strategy teams, as well as customers and partners, you will lead an
activity that develops and executes short- to medium-term segment strategies. These are the strategies that
will drive Imagination to global leadership in the gaming and mobile market segment, leading to value-driving
outcomes – in effect, shaping our future.
The role reports into the China Segment Marketing Director, with a dotted line into the VP of Segment
Marketing.
You will
• Drive the assessment, analysis and evaluation of the gaming and mobile market segments including
subsegments such as mobile XR , handsets and mobile gaming.
• Provide guidance to the organisation as to how to engage with key players via regular segment
reviews which are to as part of the corporate strategy lifecycle
• Manage Imagination's go-to-market strategy and product positioning with customers, OEMs and their
partners in the mobile and gaming segments and relevant subsegments
• Create demonstrable market pull across our range of products and services
• Help frame the "terms of the discussion" in the marketplace around Imagination and its offerings
And in your own right, alongside wider members of the wider Imagination team, you will:
• Demonstrate domain understanding in your market segment end-to-end, with a grasp of the relevant
macro and micro trends such as 5G, gaming, XR, AI and others
• Understand where the money is being made today, where will it be made tomorrow – and
understanding the 'pain points' that lead to successful value creation and value capture
• Define, agree and execute strategies that position Imagination as the preferred thought leader and
strategic supplier in these segments, surmounting barriers to Imagination's market entry and erecting
barriers to others
• Use domain knowledge to appropriately position existing IP products/solutions for sale now; to
inform future new product and service development; and drive revenue generation in the segment
• Develop a data centre segment-specific ecosystem, and suggest potential M&A targets
• Create the appropriate marketing content to support product positioning and thought leadership in
the data centre segment
Imagination Technologies
• Track and influence relevant government agencies & industry standards bodies
• Collect, analyse and disseminate relevant and actionable competitive intelligence to the appropriate
stakeholders within the organisation
• Deploy management and financial models to provide insight into proposed strategies and business
models
• Prepare and compellingly communicate insights and strategy proposals to line management and
other stakeholders, taking into account opportunities, risks, uncertainties and mitigation
• Meaningfully collaborate with other members of the broader Imagination team to ensure a clear "line
of sight" from corporate objectives through to business outcomes, developing processes and systems
as appropriate
• Contribute to various strategy initiatives as appropriate, including support from the ad hoc through to
due diligence exercises and the Strategic Plan
• Partner with leaders elsewhere in the organisation to ensure strategies are successfully executed and
to learn from past efforts and drive improvements to the business

You have
• Demonstrable experience in a similar strategic marketing role as a member of a segment or product
strategy team
• Experience of an industry with a similar product and sales lifecycle to semiconductors, IP or software
• Ability to effectively synthesise and communicate complex business issues
• Capability to influence senior stakeholders through financial modelling and presentations

• Relevant semiconductor industry experience
• Experience at a top management consulting firm
• MBA or background in economics or another quantitative discipline
• Project management experience
