About the team

We are the New Product Introduction team responsible for introducing new Roku TVs to the market. We work on everything required to bring a new product to market from concept phase to mass production. We work with vendors and channel partners along with various teams within Roku to make sure we can bring high quality products to our customers.

What you will be doing

• Be responsible for end-to-end software testing efforts for complex Smart TV features and system integrations, from design validation to production release.
• Develop and review comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases; champion improvements to test scope and methodology.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in Smart TV domains such as AQ/PQ/KPI, application ecosystems, connectivity, and power management.
• Perform in-depth root cause analysis for critical defects and collaborate directly with development teams on solutions.
• Manage defect lifecycle for major features—driving prioritization, tracking progress, and ensuring timely resolution.
• Coordinate testing efforts with OEM partners and SOC vendors, providing technical guidance and aligning on quality standards.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and drive initiatives to improve test effectiveness and efficiency.
• Report on quality metrics and test results to stakeholders, providing data-driven insights into product readiness.
• Maintain the setup and debug automation jobs on the projects, and monitor test execution and results collection.
• Design and implement automated test cases, analyze test failures, troubleshoot issues, track defects, and verify fixes, communicating results clearly to stakeholders.
• Develop new test scenarios and automation to validate new product features and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

We're Excited If You Have

• 5+ years of professional experience in QA, with a significant focus on software testing of Smart TVs, streaming devices, or related embedded products.
• 5+ years of experience in software test automation, with proficiency in Python or similar programming languages.
• Deep understanding of TV technologies such as HDMI/HDCP, CEC, Dolby Audio, HDR, and display calibration.
• Strong analytical skills and experience generating and presenting detailed test reports to stakeholders.
• Familiar with Linux systems, version control(git) and test management tools (Jenkins, JIRA, TestNG etc.)
• Expertise in test case management and bug tracking tools, with experience defining and improving QA processes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Git, JIRA, and TestNG.
• Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) tools for writing tests in natural language (Gherkin syntax) is a big plus.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with experience working directly with development teams and external partners.
