Senior Piping Designer - EXPAT

KBR is providing Project Management Services encompassing Engineering, Procurement, phase execution supporting KBR's client Sonangol's multi-billion-dollar grass roots Lobito Refinery Project in Angola Africa. KBR's Project Management Team is responsible for the overall management of the Owner's EPC Contractor's contract.

KBR is looking for a Senior Piping Designer to assist the project team by providing input to EPC Contractor's 3D Model Reviews, piping detail designs, and design methodology. This role will provide technical assurance of piping design work being performed by EPC Contractor.

  • This position will mobilize to China***

Responsibilities

  • Develop front end piping layout deliverables including complex plant layouts, plant layout reports etc
  • Build on their knowledge of the technical requirements of piping up individual items of equipment
  • Communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines
  • Capable of representing the piping discipline to the client

Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 7 + years of related experience with average experience ranging from 10 + years of experience
  • Ability to read drawings / P&ID
  • Knowledge of Piping Design and Plant Layout from concept through to detail design
  • 2D CAD applications including AutoCAD and / or Microstation
  • Aveva E3D and / or SmartPlant 3D
  • Significant layout experience
  • Strong communication skills including ability to present at design reviews
  • Engineering support experience to construction or commissioning
