People like you.Visit our careers page to see what exciting opportunities and company perks awaitJob Description:Job DescriptionMicrochip's Data Center Solutions Business Unit (DCS) offers industry leading performance, reliability, and security for PCIe Switches, Re-timer, Smart Storage Controllers, RAID Controllers, SAS/SATA IO Controllers, SAS Expanders, and NVME Controllers.Our Applications Engineering Team is responsible for working closely with the Product Development Teams, Product Validation Teams, Marketing Teams, and Sales Teams to enable our Tier 1 storage/data center customers to bring their solutions to market. We work with leading edge technology that gets deployed in data center, machine-learning/AI, and storage applications. We engage with customer engineering teams to assist in design wins, product ramp, and system production. We offer a challenging and dynamic working environment with opportunities to make substantial contributions toward the success of our business. Responsibilities:Support, manage, and maintain hardware for processor-based storage integrated circuits and reference designs.Work closely with Tier 1 OEMs and their ODMs to define requirements, manage deliverables, assist with new product design wins, and support initial system bring-up to full productionUnderstand customer architectures and HW designs to closely work with engineering in providing timely customer technical support of post-production products.Work independently, and in a team environmentRoot cause customer issues in a timely manner independently or by leading a cross-functional teamDevelop and review customer level documentation including user guides, release notes, technical product training, reference designs, and application notesUnderstand customer requirements and drive them through the project management processTravel within China and internationally, as needed to work at customer sites to debug systems, involving software and firmware for the market leading Microsemi server/storage devices product linesRequirements/Qualifications:Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in EE, or CE>5 years of experienceGood design skillsHigh Speed Signal Integrity, Board Design experienceExperience with board-level debug & bring-upStrong technical leadership, teamwork, communication, and presentation skillsExperience with bench top equipment such as protocol analyzers/exercisers, logic analyzers, and other storage or networking related test equipmentAbility to effectively work with cross-functional teams and across multiple geographical locations Desired Qualifications:Expertise in PCIe and SASExperience with mass storage firmware and softwareStrong system design skillsExperience working with Marketing and Sales teamsProject management experienceExperience with RISC based embedded processors (MIPS preferred)Past work with Unix & Wintel drivers and experience in FW development with light weight embedded kernels (ThreadX, VxWorks, eCos, etc.)Strong debugging skills and experience with kernel (Windbg), JTAG, serial portTravel Time:0% - 25%To all recruitment agencies: Microchip Technology Inc. does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
