Senior Data Compliance Officer

Position Summary

Provide expert, end-to-end data-compliance leadership across all Midea business units and jurisdictions, ensuring every product, service and data flow meets PIPL, GDPR, CSL, DSL and other applicable cyber-security and privacy requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, maintain and continuously improve the enterprise data-compliance framework, standards and playbooks.
  2. Lead data-export security assessments, DPIAs/PIAs and RoPA; file regulatory notifications where required.
  3. Deliver concise, business-oriented legal opinions to R&D, IoT, cloud, procurement and marketing teams on data collection, storage, cross-border transfer and AI algorithms.
  4. Benchmark and audit operational processes; drive remediation plans and monitor effectiveness.
  5. Track global regulatory developments (data, AI, antitrust) and convert into proactive risk-mitigation measures.
  6. Design and conduct compliance training for technical and executive audiences; measure training outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • LL.B/LL.M or equivalent legal qualification; admitted to practice in PRC or major jurisdiction.
  • Minimum eight (8) years' post-qualification experience in data privacy, cyber-security and technology law, gained in reputable law firm and multinational corporation.
  • In-depth knowledge of PIPL, CSL, DSL, GDPR, CCPA and related standards (ISO 27001/27701, GB/T 35273,
  • CIPP/E, CIPM, EXIN DPO or equivalent certification preferred; antitrust compliance exposure a plus.
  • Native-level Mandarin and fluent English (drafting & negotiation).
  • Strong analytical, project-management and stakeholder-influencing skills; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
