Position Description
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for running the sourcing events as requested from Sites. This includes execution of events such as price agreements and Strategic Sourcing initiatives. The overall focus of the role is to manage product costs and add value to the goods purchased from the suppliers to meet the company objectives.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Supporting the sourcing needs as dictated by the business, run strategic sourcing events and deliver the results as needed.
• Implementing supplier sourcing roadmap for the country, category or products.
• Maintaining Commercial Competitiveness of the suppliers. This includes continuous assessment of the strategic suppliers against the market and other suppliers.
• Coordinating with the supplier performance group to ensure the supplier(s) remain competitive and take necessary action to continually address cost challenges and further reduce their cost base.
• Manage and Drive RFQ, Supplier Selection, Price/contract negotiation for Category based Transformation cost reduction Projects from cost reduction trackers and provide business case document for decision making.
• Negotiate and propose supplier pricing agreements.
• Support and provide input to product group on product costing to develop business case and sourcing implementation.
• Involve in developing sourcing strategy for targeted Sourcing Projects / initiatives on specific projects as needed by Site.
• Management of Purchase Orders.
• Periodic review with Supplier Performance Group on the supplier performance report.
• Identify sourcing gaps and provide recommendations to Supply chain manager.

Competencies And Skills

• 5 years of experience in sourcing & procurement
• Casting & Forging parts purchasing experience in Ball valve & Control valve is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field
• Strong interpersonal relationship management
• Evidenced understanding of both commercial and technical areas of supply chain
• Very good commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in Project Management
• Knowledge of supply base in the region for the assigned categories
• Understanding of market dynamics
• Strong analytical skills which involve collecting, analyzing and interpreting data

PREFERENCES

• Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate at all organizational levels
• Expertise with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Oracle and sourcing tools like Ariba
