As a Senior Application Technologist in our Taste & Wellbeing Division, you will report to Application Head-Sweet and will need to Manage beverage & Dairy product development and flavour application process and provide complex technical expertise to drive operational excellence and develop strong cooperation with multiple customers, according to business goals and EH&S policies. In this exciting role you will: Food product development and flavour Application

• Execute daily brief-related tasks and fully manage the flavour selection, evaluation and application development as well as guiding customer visits and product development and product presentations at the customer when required
• Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
• Select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, costs) and proactively take responsibility to suggest updates using flavours with high performance in common applications
• Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in multiple applications Knowledge sharing & expertise
• Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for multiple applications
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with multiple customers; able to gain their trust and respect
• Consistently participate as a local champion for new technologies
• Coach, train, and motivate technicians, technologists and scientists
• Recommend appropriate lab/pilot plant equipment needed for capital project investments Data Management
• Actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles Environmental Health & Safety
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

Your professional profile includes:

• University Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology
• Above 10 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
• Project management skills with consistent success record and considered to be an excellent choice to lead large development projects including the largest customer briefs and technical development projects in selected applications areas
• Ability to lead projects for customers and considered to be a leader in customer relationship skills in a specific applications area
• Expert technical problem solving skills in multiple food & beverage product development areas, especially in beverage and dairy areas
• Ability to prepare and present a broad variety of innovative technical presentations within Givaudan and to customers
• Ability to supervise and manage technicians and technologists and instruct scientists
• Understanding of Analytical/Sensory methodology as relevant to flavour selection
