China General Manager(China Market President)

My client is a MNC company, enjoy good reputation over the world, segment industry leader, a row material supplier. They have healthy and sustainable business in China and a stable and strong team. Shanghai office is a site & trading company.

The Opportunity

As the General Manager, you will hold full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility and provide strategic and operational leadership for our entire manufacturing facility. You will be the key driver in achieving our business objectives, fostering a culture of high performance, and ensuring we remain at the forefront of our industry. This is a high-impact role for a visionary leader who is passionate about operational excellence and developing people.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:
  ​ Develop and execute the annual operating plan and long-term strategic roadmap to achieve financial and operational targets (Revenue, EBITDA, ROI).
• Operational Excellence:
  ​ Oversee all aspects of manufacturing, including production, engineering, quality control, supply chain, and maintenance. Drive initiatives in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Financial Management:
  ​ Manage the full P&L for the site. Prepare and control the annual budget, analyze financial statements, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
• Team Development:
  ​ Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of managers and employees. Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
• Safety & Compliance:
  ​ Champion a zero-incident safety culture. Ensure the facility complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Customer & Supplier Relations:
  ​ Serve as a key point of contact for major customers and suppliers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and strengthening strategic partnerships.
• Drive Growth:
  ​ Identify opportunities for operational improvements, new technologies, and business growth in collaboration with sales and business development teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a Plant Manager or General Manager role with full P&L responsibility.
• Proven track record of successfully turning around or significantly improving manufacturing operations (e.g., increasing productivity, reducing costs, improving quality metrics).
• Deep, hands-on expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPS, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Certification (e.g., Black Belt) is highly desirable.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Thorough knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
